The Rose Center for Expressive Therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for children, adolescents and adults experiencing emotional, behavioral and relational challenges.    Often words are not enough to fully express and process what we feel, what we think, what we experience.   And so, we encourage drawing, painting, writing, creating, pretending, story- telling, dancing, singing, acting, and make- believing.  Expressive Therapies within the context of Psychotherapy creates an atmosphere for healing and personal growth.

New Therapy Alliance

Welcome!

Hello, I’m Rose Testa, a Psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. If you are visiting this website, it’s likely that you’re thinking about making changes in your life. You may be struggling with a problem that you can’t seem to solve on your own. Possibly you are seeking counseling for your family or child. In either situation, reaching out for support is the first step. It is a tremendous step, and commend you for this!

Individual, family and play therapy are my passions! I will work closely with you alone or, with your child and family to help you problem solve, learn new ways of communicating and creating a loving connection in your relationships.

What is therapy like?

Every therapy session is unique and caters to each individual and their specific goals. It is standard for therapists to discuss the primary issues and concerns in your life during therapy sessions. It is common to schedule a series of weekly sessions, where each session lasts about fifty minutes. Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue, or long-term, addressing more complex issues or ongoing personal growth. Quite often you are asked to take certain actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book, keeping records to track certain behaviors, or practicing and implementing new strategies to help you cope effectively in stressful situations.

Therapy provides the opportunity to work through your problems.

You want a therapist who will listen and interact with you, someone who can be supportive and honest in helping you find solutions to your problems, someone who will help you live a life that is different than it is today.

Trust and rapport is the cornerstone to forming healthy and meaningful relationships.

I am that therapist. I will work with you and challenge you to make things better. I believe that therapy should be a positive experience. A therapist can be a pivotal person in your life and I take that very seriously.
